EDWARD MOORE KENNEDY

Senator for 44 years. Have the people of Massachusetts EVER gotten their money’s worth?

His latest bloviating tirade has to do with the Defense of Marriage constitutional amendment:

“A vote for this amendment is a vote for bigotry, pure and simple.” Thus spoke Sen. Ted Kennedy in reference to the Marriage Protection Amendment being debated in the Senate today.

Senator Kennedy’s moral resume hardly qualifies him as a moral arbiter. Starting with his expulsion from Harvard for cheating on exams, to what I consider his utter culpability in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne, his own advanced alcoholism which is evident on his bloated face, to his adulterous behavior in his first marriage which cannot have helped his first wife Joan’s emotional and alcohol related problems, to his current unsanctified marriage (the Catholic Church doesn’t DO divorce folks – at least not in his case), I seriously doubt that his late brothers, however morally suspect they might have been when it came to women, would find much to approve in his relentlessly anti-American locutions.

And yet, he has the brass balls to RANT about a constitutional amendment that would reinforce the Catholic Church’s position on marriage. In a just world, he would be publicly chastised and THEN excommunicated on the grounds of causing scandal. In fact, I’m hard pressed to understand why he has not yet been on the receiving end of a trip to the wood shed, courtesy of the Pope – present or former.

Edward Moore Kennedy (D-MA) is the living, breathing (just don’t light a match) embodiment of the need for term limits!
