Kerry to Campaign for Lamont in Conn.

Sen. John Kerry is ready to join an exclusive club: prominent Democrats shunning three-term Sen. Joe Lieberman to campaign in Connecticut for his anti-war rival Ned Lamont.

The Massachusetts senator, the party's 2004 presidential nominee, plans to travel to the state Oct. 25 for Lamont. Kerry's running mate, former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, appeared at a Lamont rally last month.

Other top Democrats, however, have tacitly backed Lamont, who seized the Democratic nomination from Lieberman in last month's primary, but have avoided public displays of support. The rationale is simple: Lieberman is running as an independent and has a good shot of winning another term; a statewide poll released Thursday showed him up by 10 percentage points. Democrats want to stay in Lieberman's good graces to ensure that he remains on their side.
(Can we say "shameless hypocrites with no moral center"! g.)

I guess it's now official - with Kerry campaigning for Lamont, Lieberman is going to win - and win big!

Sam and Tim are not explicitly aware of upcoming plans, but they BOTH know something is up and that somehow, some way, a change in the household arrangement is either permanently or temporarily imminent. Therefore, in order to telegraph their displeasure with ANY unauthorized adjustment in the household status quo (ALL changes are unauthorized in their view – cats do not approve of interruption of their routine), they have decided to behave badly until they sense that the threat to their routine has passed. Unfortunately that means cat-induced torture will be a daily occurrence at my house for the next week.

I’m going to Las Vegas on a brief vacation next Thursday, but even before that, I will be out of town (and thus gone for at least 12 hours) on company business on Wednesday of next week. My return from Las Vegas is scheduled for midnight(ish) on Sunday, and upon my return I will be greeted by hostile, revenge seeking, fur-bearing instruments of torture named Sam and Tim, bent on punishing me for my desertion, however little it really affected their daily lives. Never mind that they sleep18-20 hours per day and that, on that basis, I will barely be gone one day. Never mind that their beloved “Aunt Pam” will be coming by each day that I’m gone and feeding them and providing them with lavish affection and attention – perhaps even spending a night while I’m gone. Never mind that they are the most pampered creatures on Planet Earth. Nay, nay my friends – it is not permitted for the human caretaker to take any respite time to recharge her batteries.

As a result of their premonition of upcoming disruption, Sam and Tim are making every effort to drive me insane prior to the advent of my trips. Sam, who weighs 25 pounds and is not a lap cat under normal circumstances, has started perching on my bladder at 3 a.m. That is NO way to be awakened. I don’t know why, but I get the feeling he is saying, “Okay bitch – you’re going away for some relaxation? Relax THIS!” Then there is the new game he is playing with his brother Tim, which involves faint bruises on my left hip and left arm where one or the other has utilized my body as a trampoline during a raucous 4 a.m. game of “chase”!

In addition, my lovely little lad Tim feels that I must be admonished frequently – in his piercing Siamese voice – about just how wrong I am to contemplate any changes in a routine he clearly enjoys. He is, after all, a CAT.

You must know the old saying: Dogs have masters; cats have staff. Apparently Sam and Tim have decided that if they must limp along with only ONE staff person, however slavishly devoted she may be most of the time, then that staff person had better realize the consequences of desertion quite unmistakably.

Trust me. I do.

Brilliant, as always, the preceding is the question posed by Jonah Goldberg in his September 27th, 2006 column in NRO and it’s a most worthwhile read, as always.

Among the many valid points that Mr. Goldberg makes is that context is all important. For example, there is the comparison of the thug that pushes an old lady under a bus vs. the thug that pushes an old lady out of the way of the bus. But both are pushing around an old lady - only the context is different.

I generally have a skeptical attitude toward Dick Morris’ prognostications and advice to Republican candidates, in no small part because he is generally wrong and his partisanship is always in question to my mind. There is, however, one area where I believe him with absolute certainty and that is in his assessment of both William Jefferson Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton as human beings and as candidates.

Morris, on Hannity & Colmes Tuesday night and again in this column state the following:

"In fact, an army of detectives, hired at the behest of Bill and Hillary and their lawyers, defamed and outed "the opposition" (both politicians and witnesses) during the impeachment battle. Earlier, similar energy went into savagely containing "bimbo eruptions" (and not just during the 1992 campaign). The same "secret police" may be on duty again in Hillary's '08 campaign.

"But Bill's warning also seems aimed at the media themselves. Noting that "the people that are doing it" [accusing the Clintons of scandal] have escaped "the same scrutiny . . . in the past," he says they won't get a "free ride" this time.

"His GOP critics surely did not escape scrutiny - but journalists largely did. Of course, in the interests of the First Amendment, reporters should escape the kind of scrutiny inflicted on politicians. But that's not the Clinton playbook - where item one is "deny the allegation" and item two is "shoot the alligator."

"Clinton's warning has a broader meaning, too: He will be unto Hillary as Hillary was unto him - the attack dog. The former president will bare his fangs against any and all who attack his wife."
It leads me to wonder how much of the MSM’s apparent mania for the ever shifty and dishonest Clintons is inspired by genuine love for this pair of grifters and how much is inspired by genuine fear?

In any event, it’s something worth thinking about.

Harold Meyerson’s Op-Ed in (where else) the New York Times Fish Wrapper is a polemic against Olympia Snow (WA), Mike DeWine (OH) and Lincoln Chafee (RI). In Meyerson's jaundiced view, none of these three candidates (none apparently from Meyerson's own state) are REAL moderates, but simply conservatives (Meyerson uses that word as a perjorative - which it is not!) in moderate clothing.

I can only conclude after reading this rant that Meyerson is running for the job of "village idiot".

How he can claim that DeWine (from my own state) who has always been a slightly left-of-center moderate is somehow trying to fool the electorate is ludicrous. If anything, DeWine's re-election was threatened because he was not considered to be at all conservative ENOUGH by the voters of Ohio.

As for Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island, why pick on him? He's so incredibly dumb that his positions aren't clear to him let alone anybody else. As friend Pat put it on his blog: "Chafee is so dumb, he couldn't spell “c-a-t” if you spotted him the “c and the a”!"

I don't know much about Olympia Snow except that if Meyerson thinks she's a conservative, she's probably a slightly left-of-center moderate like Senator DeWine.

What's really happening - and we'll be seeing a lot of this (right out of the James Carville playbook) from now until the November elections – is that Democrats, in lieu of an actual agenda or some sort of viable plan to present to the voters, are going to trundle out these polemic-producing pundits of no special qualification, wit or intelligence, in order to confuse the people that the Dems see as clueless rubes - theRepublican-leaning voters.

The attack ads in Ohio started in JANUARY and I have observed, with a great deal of distaste that almost universally all of the Democratic ads are attack based with no verbiage putting forth any plan other than “I hate Republicans!”. This is an insult to MY intelligence and that of 99% of other Ohio voters but apparently the Democrats feel this is their only hope.

Somehow, I doubt it will work!

Go on over there and you decide!

Apparently 7-Eleven Inc. is dropping Venezuela-backed Citgo as its gasoline supplier at more than 2,100 locations and switching to its own brand of fuel when its 20-year contract with Citgo Petroleum Corp. ends next week. Approximately 2,100 of 7-Eleven's U.S. stores (5,300 in all) sell gasoline. In my neighborhood they are almost always the least expensive purveyer of fuel - and you can get a decent cup of coffee at the same time.

7-Eleven has apparently been studying providing its own brand of fuel for some time and will be getting its supplies of gas from U.S. based independent refiners.

As Jerry Lewis has been heard to say during his annual Telethon: "Oh thank heaven for 7-Eleven!"
SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE – and they should!

The 42nd President’s “mama bear” has now lumbered forth in defense of her “cub”. This is all so predictable and so clearly is a repetition of the Clinton playbook from the 90s. And it is getting so OLD!

The Clinton marriage is a most peculiar business partnership (only the most naïve could call it a love match) in public life but when it’s working, it wins elections. However, we have had 6 years of a president who is an authentic MAN and who is, clearly, engaged in a loving marriage with an admirable woman who stands shoulder-to-shoulder with him without in any way being subjugated to him, so former President Clinton’s histrionics may end up backfiring as never before. After all, the electorate has become a bit more sophisticated (I hope) and less likely to be bamboozled by the poking finger and the red face. And of course, there IS the Internet.

Nothing is ever HIS fault or HER fault. Once again the “vast right-wing conspiracy” (which has only ever existed in their paranoia) will be blamed for Billy Jeff’s “booboo”! How pathetic. How destructive (to both of them). How boring!

I DVRd Dick Morris appearance on Hannity & Colmes last night because I was too sleepy to stay awake - so I haven't seen but a small portion of it as yet, but what I have seen is not favorable to President and Senator Clinton. More on that appearance later.

'Voices of Heaven' ordered not to sing sacred music
Ruling from Michigan school administrator leaves visiting artists upset

If we sometimes wonder why Europeans have mixed feelings about our nation, this might be at least one explanation!

Much has been made of the asinine (and childish) behavior of William Jefferson Clinton, 42nd President of the United States, during his interview by Chris Wallace.

President Clinton’s thin-skinned and completely out of proportion reaction to Chris Wallace’s questions, not to mention the bullying posture he adopted, did more to delineate the true WJC character (or lack thereof) than anything he could have said.

The truth is, doing nothing was exactly what Bill Clinton DID for 8 years! Over and over and over again! That’s why 9/11/01 was possible and he can kick his little heels and threaten to hold his breath over and over again – but reality is still reality and William Jefferson Clinton’s presidency was 8 years of failure when it came to protecting the safety and security of the United States of America – something he was sworn, before God, to do!

To attempt to salvage his “legacy” with outright LIES and distortions is despicable behavior – but then what else can you expect from an amoral and immature man who is a serial adulterer, probable multiple rapist, impeached President, known more for his dalliance with a girl young enough to be his daughter and his lies to the nation and to a grand jury. And he DARES to claim he never criticized President Bush? He DARES to claim he reacted strongly to the various infamies visited by the jihadist scum on our nation and its people during his ENTIRE term of office.

Maybe this crap flew when William Jefferson Clinton was campaigning for the presidency back in the early 90s. That was before the Internet and now there is no hiding from the utter disaster for this country the presidency of WJC actually was. In 5 minutes of Internet research I managed to find 15 articles from contemporaneous newspapers of the Clinton presidency that proved that the former president is a liar.

The Clintons both appear to believe that substance is less important than appearances. And once again, I thank God that we have a President who knows better, is dedicated to protecting our nation and defeating evil.

The truth is that William Jefferson Clinton and his shrieking harpie of a wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, are ONLY and eternally interested in self-promotion and self-aggrandizement and nothing else. And they have the most astounding sense of entitlement on view in the Western World. They make Jacques Chirac look modest by comparison. What a pair of losers!
UPDATE: At the request of Bill Bartley (The Rosette Report) , the ever lucid and interesting James Taranto has been kind enough to retrieve and post at Bartley's request his August 21, 1998 article: The System Strikes Back. which refutes, absolutely, any claims of WJC that the right wing conspiracy is ignoring everything he did to fight terrorism. We aren't ignoring it - there was almost nothing to find!

Much has been written of late by various blogs regarding the growing incidence of anti-Semitism throughout the world and, most particularly, easily found on many of the leftwing liberal blogs.

Our world is not quite 62 years from the discovery of the full extent of the unbelievable horror of the Holocaust and yet, here we are once again, venturing into such distasteful and hateful territory.

The leader of Iran proclaims that the Holocaust never happened. And yes, we may consider him a lunatic, but he is a lunatic who is also head of a state with nuclear ambitions!

Hamas and Hezbollah have made no secret of their intentions vis-à-vis Israel – they intend to wipe Israel off the map and drive all Israelis into the sea thus claiming the land that is once-again fertile due to the hard work and sacrifice of the Israelis over the past 60 years or more.

Anti-Semitism is rife in France, due at least in part to the vast increase in immigration of Muslims, but also due to the fact that, to put it quite bluntly, the French really don’t like or approve of anybody but themselves.

Anti-Semitism has again become a force in the American Democratic Party as well. However often she may deny it, I believe Dick Morris’ assertion that Hillary Rodham Clinton is anti-Semitic or has, at the very least, uttered anti-Semitic comments. Certainly the rhetoric emanating from the Lamont campaign in Connecticut is despicable and inflammatory, as is the nonsense coming out of Virginia’s Senatorial campaign.

Adolph Hitler committed suicide nearly 62 years ago. Even if he hadn’t, was not enough damage done during his regime when over 6 million Jews (and uncounted numbers of Catholics, and other non-conforming types that Hitler found unacceptable by his twisted reasoning) died? Do we not remember the pogroms in Russia prior to the Russian revolution and the endlessly discriminatory treatment of Jews after the revolution in the former Soviet Union?

I thought – I hoped – we were past all of that. The Second Vatican Council radically changed the Catholic Church’s relationship with the Jewish people when it issued the Nostra Aetate declaration in 1965, which cleared Jews of responsibility for the death of Jesus, renounced its traditional claim that Jews had been rejected by God, condemned anti-Semitism and called for “mutual understanding and respect” between Catholics and Jews. As Pope, John Paul II would turn these words into actions.

So why are we now here at this point in our history? I don’t know. What I do know is that anti-Semitism is ugly and dangerous and just plain wrong. And for the modern Democratic Party, so famously self-advertised as the party of “inclusion”, their current rhetoric and actions are endangering one of their most important constituents: the American Jew.

THE BRILLIANT CAPTAIN'S QUARTERS tells us that Citgo is wholly owned by Venezuela, which means its profits are going into the pockets of the man in the picture - a man who feels it is okay to come into our country and defame and insult the President of the United States (an offense that would get a person shot in his country) and generally sound like a leftwing Democrat!

RANGEL: AN ATTACK ON BUSH IS AN ATTACK ON ALL AMERICANS... 'You do not come into my country, my congressional district, and you do not condemn my president. If there is any criticism of President Bush, it should be restricted to Americans, whether they voted for him or not. I just want to make it abundantly clear to Hugo Chavez or any other president, do not come to the United States and think because we have problems with our president that any foreigner can come to our country and not think that Americans do not feel offended when you offend our Chief of State'...

The problem is that these thugs and despots around the world do NOT understand our system of government or our national sensibilities. They think that because WE feel free to criticize, it’s okay for them to do likewise – and it isn’t.

But, before anyone starts pinning roses on Charlie Rangel (who is a very smart politician), he was doing it at least partly for very self-serving reasons. Had the Democrats, who are the principal (only) purveyors of BDS, NOT condemned Hugo Chavez in no uncertain terms, outraged Americans could easily have lumped all Dems into the same stinking pot of sewage (which all too often is where their actions cause them to belong) as Chavez. Hence, Nancy Pelosi – not the sharpest tool in the shed but still smarter than Chavez – calls him a “thug”. Then there is [sigh] former President William Jefferson Clinton who, as usual, wanted to have his cake and eat it too – so, again as usual, he equivocated and offered only a lame protest at the insults hurled by this primitive Venezuelan cretin. But make no mistake, there were no DEM protests when their beloved “Peace Mom” Cindy Sheehan was cozying up to Chavez and that tells me all I need to know about their sincerity in THIS matter.

The full text of Ahmadinejad's speech has received absolutely no coverage in the Drive-By media. There is a reason for that. Read here!

Unfortunately, Iran's megalomaniac "leader" was all over the chat shows, mostly being interviewed by fawning sychophants that made Dan Rather's interview look almost hard-hitting! Anderson Cooper on CNN nearly licked his boots!

What a disgusting sight!

In the midst of proving how violent and unstable their mindset and actions can be, it is clear to me that not one of those rioting Muslims probably read the Pope’s entire speech – or if they did read it, they didn’t understand what they were reading.

When is the civilized world going to quit enabling this kind of behavior by making excuses for it? Is it going to take yet another unthinkable and cataclysmic event to make the self-appointed cognoscenti understand what we are all up against?

The ever remarkable Brent Bozell says it best:

This mind-numbing double standard was set perfectly (and ridiculously) by the New York Times editorial page on a sleepy Saturday, which lamented the Pope’s desire for a “uniform Catholic identity,” which is “not exactly the best jumping-off point for tolerance or interfaith dialogue.” These people seem to have no clue that the Holy Father’s first duty is to maintain a Catholic Church that is united and true to its historical roots. His first duty is to defend an ancient deposit of faith and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. This, to the sages of the New York Times editorial board, is an inherently offensive mission – exclusive, intolerant, conservative.

But the next paragraph was worse, demanding that Benedict confess his offense to the secular and Islamic worlds: "The world listens carefully to the words of any pope. And it is tragic and dangerous when one sows pain, either deliberately or carelessly. He needs to offer a deep and persuasive apology, demonstrating that words can also heal."

This is rich from the New York Times, whose editor, Bill Keller, has deliberately and carelessly handed out the “pain” to reverent Roman Catholics in a 2002 column by comparing John Paul the Great to a communist despot. Deep apologies did not follow. Hypocrite, heal thyself.
I find it offensive and ridiculous that the Pope should be expected to apologize to a bunch of lunatics he didn’t insult in the first place, and who are proving his point in the second place. Or is murdering an elderly Italian nun just a mere blip on the leftist liberals’ radar? Is threatening the life of the man who is the spiritual leader of a church whose membership as of the end of 2004 was 1,098,366,000. That is well over 1 BILLION members.

I think it is long past time that the mainstream media and all world leaders and RELIGIOUS leaders start holding Islam to the same standards to which every other legitimate religion is held in the civilized world. That is, that rioting in the streets is no longer acceptable, the beheading of people who do not share your beliefs is no longer acceptable, and that murder, torture, bombings and the commission of general mayhem against any other human being is NO LONGER an acceptable way to behave and it is time for the mullahs and imans to have it made clear to them that if they wish to be considered "the religion of peace", they'd damned well better start acting like peaceful and civilized people instead of thin-skinned hysterical lunatics.

RE: Patrick Fitzgerald’s Handling of the Plame Case

Dear Mr. Jarrett:

Now that it is established fact that Patrick Fitzgerald knew from the outset of his so-called investigation that the leak of Valerie Plame’s identity came from Richard Armitage, and further that Valerie Plame was not an undercover CIA operative whose identity was protected by law, I would suggest the following:

· Mr. Fitzgerald’s activities and conduct throughout this unnecessary drain on DOJ resources be thoroughly investigated and, if appropriate, Mr. Fitzgerald be severely chastised and/or charged with felonies for that conduct.

· The charges against Mr. Libby should be summarily dropped and Mr. Fitzgerald should be required to publicly apologize to Mr. Libby for the improper prosecution of Mr. Libby. Further, Mr. Fitzgerald should be required to reimburse Mr. Libby for any attorneys’ fees generated from this farcical prosecution.

· Mr. Fitzgerald should be required to publicly apologize to The President of the United States, George W. Bush, for taking up valuable governmental resources for a period of three years in an investigation for which the answers were known from the outset.

· Mr. Fitzgerald should be required to publicly apologize to Karl Rove for any and all activities of Mr. Fitzgerald which led to Mr. Rove’s time and resources being wasted in answering questions to which the answers were already known and further, for the public calumny that was attached to these activities.

· My reasoning is simple and is stated best in Clarice Feldman’s excellent letter to you of September 19, 2006 [copy attached].

A direct response to my letter is not required. You folks have a War on Terror to fight and you don’t need me (or Patrick Fitzgerald) occupying your time.

Very truly yours,

The always insightful and frequently – as in this case – brilliant Anchoress gives us her thoughts on the current brouhaha involving the Muslim world’s reaction to the recent remarks by Pope Benedict. It is a completely worthwhile read and I commend it to your attention.

The world has more than amply demonstrated that it would like to see Islam put away its swords and get on with the business of simply living life - which is difficult enough without having to worry about jihad - and yet Islam will not comply. With Benedict’s words, the world is finally free to come out and ask, “Okay, short of our surrender and our conversions, what is it going to take to get you folks to settle down?”

It's a fair question and one that we should be asking. Another one we should be asking is - if there are moderate Muslims, why are we not hearing from them?

The extraordinary David Limbaugh's new column says everything that needs to be said (and should be said, and loudly) about the differences between President Bush's most recent speeches and the Democratic Party's invective-filled responses to those speeches.

Could it be that they are starting to sniff the not-so-sweet scent of defeat in the air! And wouldn't that be lovely?

As anyone who knows me knows, I pretty much insist on referring to former presidents with due respect for the office, if not the man who once held it. I have pretty much decided to suspend that practice when it comes to former President James Earl Carter, Jr., who shall henceforth be considered unfit to be so respected.

This was reported on Yahoo News this week: “Lamont's campaign got a boost Wednesday from former President Jimmy Carter, who criticized Lieberman's support for the Iraq war. "He was one of the originators of public statements that misled the American people into believing that the Iraqi war was justified," the former Democratic president said on CNN's "Larry King Live."

"He's joined in with the Republican spokespersons by saying that Democrats who disagree are really supporting terrorism," Carter said. "So for all these reasons, I've lost my confidence in Joe Lieberman and don't wish to see him re-elected."”

Jimmy, you senile old fart, nobody gives a rat’s ass what you think and why in the name of hell are you poking your nose into Connecticut politics? I realize your brain cells are virtually nil, but you live in Georgia you incredible braying ass!

And to the enablers who keep giving this ridiculous caricature of a would-be statesman a venue to spew his bile-filled nonsense, JUST STOP IT! We don’t need to hear this crap from this has-been who is, in many ways, responsible for the state of the world today because he didn’t have enough grit in his craw to deal with the Islamic jihadist scum when he was racking up his points as the worst president of the 20th century.

It’s only my opinion, but I don’t think I’m wrong.

Ever since the 2004 election, Democrats have been falling over themselves trying to find new ways to insult the duly and legally elected President of the United States. (And I don’t want to hear from any moonbats claiming any kind of election fraud anywhere – all that gibberish has been proven FALSE for both 2000 and 2004 – deal with it!)

Last night I was sitting in my easy chair, enjoying “Dancing With The Stars” and it came to me once again – every time a Democrat insults my President, they insult ME and I am really out of patience with any and all people who feel they have the right to insult me. And I bet I’m not the only person who feels that way.

Whether you like it or not, Democrats, 62,040,606 Americans voted for George W. Bush for a second term. Only 59,028,109 voted for John Kerry, the legend in his own mind from Massachusetts.

Life lesson to the radical leftwingnut crybabies: There are consequences to everything you say and DO. When you insult 52% of the American population on a regular basis, they are NOT going to feel much like voting for you.

And by the way – I feel perfectly secure in saying this because the Dems wouldn’t believe what I’m saying anyway. If it isn’t fed to them on Sesame Street or Larry King Live, it isn’t happening.

As if there weren't enough bad news out there for the Dems (gas prices dropping hourly, President Bush in a feisty mood, 9/11 remembrance, surging economy), this news ought to cause them to moisten their BVDs: According to the AP Economics Writer Martin Crutsinger, the Treasury's Budget Report shows that the Federal Deficit has dropped 14.1 Percent!

I'm thinking it must really suck to be a Democrat these days!

In today’s Washington Post, Dana Milbank has his knickers in a knot (which seems to be an on-going condition with him) because Rep. Boehner (R-OH) mused that he occasionally “wondered” if his colleagues on the Democratic side of the aisle were more interested in protecting terrorists than they were in protecting Americans. News flash to Milbank: A lot of American citizens wonder the same thing on an almost daily basis!

The Democrats’ record on defending American security is astoundingly pathetic. (See earlier post with the list of attacks perpetrated during the Clinton presidency.) And when the opportunity came to protect American secret information, the President of the United States fumbled badly – at the behest and fevered urging of the mainstream media. In November 2000, WILLIAM JEFFERSON CLINTON vetoed the Intelligence Authorization Act, 2001. This Act would have made it a CRIME for government employees to disclose classified information to the public.

Milbank tries to make the case that Republicans always accuse Democrats of treachery and failure to protect our nation’s security in order to win elections. Since the Democrats are famous for their national security failures, my feeling is, there’s no reason not to point it out! Republicans who point out their opponents’ weak record on national security are engaged in definition of character (or lack thereof) rather than any presumed defamation. I don’t believe it was Republicans who started the inaccurate and defamatory (not to mention, infantile) chant “Bush Lied, People Died”, despite the fact that it has been proven over and over again that what President Bush was accused of saying had never even been said. And despite the fact that we have been finding multitudes of WMD carefully concealed in Iraq, if you ask a Democrat (or the MSM) – there weren’t any! Don’t even get me started on the widespread enabling of the perfidious fantasies of Joe Wilson and his CIA-employee (but not covert agent) wife, Valerie Plame. Joe Wilson couldn’t even prepare an accurate report on his spouse-arranged trip to Niger; subsequent documents found in Iraq definitely prove that Saddam Hussein WAS seeking yellowcake! Talk about your gang that cannot shoot straight.

The bottom line is, once again, any criticism of the completely amoral and self-serving acts by many, many Democrats on behalf of their own political careers and nothing else, is considered by them to be a questioning of their patriotism. In my view, I think that is a legitimate exercise for all of us, regarding ALL candidates. Is the safety and security of the American homeland and its citizens the first priority of this candidate? If your answer is “yes” – vote for them regardless of party affiliation!

Hillary Needs a Vacation is a blog that is better each and every time I see it (which is daily). Today, brooklyn boy catches Mrs. Clinton with her linguistic dainties down around her ankles! Seems to be a familial affliction, don't you think?

This should drive the Dimbulb Dems nuts! I paid $2.17/gallon for gas at my regular station in Columbus, Ohio on Sunday. Did I enjoy paying that little? You betcha. Do I hope it annoys the peewadden out of Sherrod Brown (who is running a vicious campaign against Mike DeWine for the Senate)? You double betcha!

As the incredible Lorie Byrd would say: "Thwack"!

This country has spent a great deal of time remembering the horrific and soul-wrenching events of September 11, 2001 over the past few weeks, culminating in yesterday’s ceremonial remembrances. And because we should always remember that nationals of MANY nations lost their lives as a result of these cowardly and despicable terror acts, other nations have been remembering that soul-wrenching day as well.

One of the interesting facets of CNN’s overly-hyped and overly-shown “In the Footsteps of Bin Laden” was that, during the Clinton years, a naturalized American (of Middle Eastern heritage) who worked in the intelligence establishment was also spying on us for Bin Laden. Now had this information come to light during the presidency of George W. Bush, the shrill cacophony of rhetoric emanating from the left would have been beyond deafening. Since the left’s beloved icon, William Jefferson Clinton, was president when this happened, all is silence.

I do not entirely blame William Jefferson Clinton for the 9/11 Attacks or the soul-wrenching shock they engendered. Not entirely. In many ways, the American character must bear a tiny amount of culpability. We are an optimistic and basically happy people. We didn’t really EXPECT bad things to happen on our soil, insulated as we were by two oceans.

Americans should be able to admit that Mr. Clinton’s overblown rhetoric supported by little or no actual ACTION must have led Osama Bin Laden to believe that he could attack us without consequence. Surprise, surprise – when the attack came, an actual MAN was the occupant of the Oval Office and clearly, Osama Bin Laden believed the blatherings of the Democratic Party tinfoil hat crowd and "misunderestimated" the President of the United States. That was and continues to be our nation’s singular good fortune.

The Democratic Party over the past five years has proven itself fully capable in many ways – capable of lies, capable of perversions of the truth (another way to say lies), capable of hysteria, capable of proclaiming that they have a plan, but never elucidating what that plan actually IS, and most dangerous, capable of convincing themselves that somehow if we just understand these murderous fanatics who wish only one thing – the death of our entire non-Muslim population and all of Western civilization - we will once again be "safe". The Islamofascists aren’t making a secret of their aims, folks. They’re really clear and very up-front about it. So my question is, why don’t the Hezbollah-crats get it? News flash to the Dems: The Islamofascist thugs want to kill YOU also, not just Republicans.

Treachery happens in large and small ways and for large and small reasons. Some people do deliberate harm to other people for their own self-aggrandizement or out of simple-minded jealousy. That kind of treachery is personally hurtful but easily understood. It’s the kind of thing that more or less comes with being human. I used to find it fairly easy to forgive that kind of perfidy but as I have grown older, I have to admit that my tolerance is virtually nil.

All that being said, the treachery of the left is less understandable to me. Is their hatred of President George W. Bush, as demented as it clearly is, so incredibly consuming that they cannot see that he is protecting ALL OF US, not just Republicans? Is their dislike of themselves (all that self-esteem they didn’t EARN isn’t working for them any more) or their country or Republicans in general just so huge that they cannot see that we are all at risk?

I think we need to be more alert to treachery, both in large ways and small. And although I truly detest the word, I think we all need to be “proactive” in protecting ourselves. Today’s events in Damascus make it crystal clear that the threat is real and on-going. These deadly jihadist scum aren't going to stop until we FORCE them to stop. It's just that simple.

God bless America and particularly, God bless George W. Bush and keep him safe from harm of any kind.

UPDATE #1: The dependably brilliant Jay Tea has written a thoughtful exposition of his well-reasoned thinking vis-a-vis the War on Terror. It is well worth a few moments of your time. brooklynboy's wonderful blog is loaded with interesting stuff today and his basic premise is pretty delightful as well!

Of special interest is the analysis of madame hillary's current aim at Senator Harry Reid (speaking of useful idiots - although we were not) and his position as Senate Minority Leader, as well as an excellent breakdown of the breakdown of the Plame Affair!

Check it out. I promise you'll enjoy it!

One of the most consistently interesting and thought-provoking sites in the blogsphere once again puts into words the complete hypocrisy of the left-liberal mouthpieces. If you doubt me, please travel over to The Anchoress to read her excellent examination of this phenomenon!
